AUTHOR'S GOAL:

The authors goal for writing this non-fiction novel is quite obvious. He wanted to inform the reader about America's recent war on drugs, that for a very long time weren't considered drugs. This battle over performace enhaancing drugs is still occuring today. People are arguing whether or not professional athletes are really breaking all the records that they say they are. America has gone from setting real, amazing records to taking steroids just so they can make huge sums of money and become extremly famous. And everything in-between. He wanted us to know that steroids are never the best choice, and there will always be more sense of accomplishment when you realize you did something with just your own amounts of hard work. Just because some guy on TV hit a ball 500 feet while taking some kind of drug doesn't mean that its OK for a high-school student to go out and copy him. America is still doing their best to cut down on the amounts of steroid users in our country. There are several agencies including the DEA, and the USADA that are out there specifically out there just to make sure people aren't cheating.
